classes available to students in karate, kajukenbo,
or fencing programs.
KAJUKENBO CLASSES
Kajukenbo emphasizes multiple, fast, and
effective hand and arm strikes to a variety of
specific pressure points and body targets.
Students will find that our kajukenbo and karate classes are
nice complements.
Classes are for students seven years old to
adult and would be ideal for students who are
concerned about excessive kicking and jumping
and for those who enjoy close-range,
self-defense training.
TAE KWON DO (TKD) CLASSES
Our tae kwon do program emphasizes
practical martial arts training with a special
emphasis on physical fitness and conditioning.
Our TKD classes emphasize the development and use of practical martial
arts skills as well as traditional martial arts techniques. Students will find classes
active, lively, and challenging. Students
will develop proficiency in a wide range of self
defense and martial arts skills while developing
power, speed, balance, coordination,
flexibility, and endurance. Classes are
designed to give everyone a workout and
to push each student to new and higher
levels of skill. Classes are
designed for students 7 years old and up.
FENCING CLASSES
Fencing is an ancient marital
art that has been refined over the past century
to become a fun and challenging form of
exercise and competition. Students can gain flexibility,
quickness, and mental acuity through regular
fencing training. As much a mental
sport as a physical one, students will also
enhance their abilities to formulate and execute
fast-paced, competitive strategies and employ
gamesmanship in their training and matches.
Fencing provides a great aerobic and anaerobic
workout and will tone and condition your body.
We
would be happy to arrange special group lessons
at other times--call or send an e-mail for more
information.
CROSS-OVER CLASSES
Friday night sparring classes are open to
all of our martial arts students who are yellow belts and up. Protective
gear is available to use, but students are encouraged to purchase their
own--hand/forearm pads, foot/shin pads, head gear, and athletic cups are
recommended.
Our self defense, judo/jujitusu, and weapons class is offered every
Friday night. The self defense portion of the class helps students
develop proficiency in a variety of practical defensive techniques. Judo/jujitsu focuses on in-close, grappling, throws/sweeps, joint
locks, and ground techniques. A variety of weapons, primarily sticks, are
practiced in the weapons class. Again, this class is open to students in
any of our martial arts programs.
